Bald patches or thinning hair can be tough to conceal because of the difference in color between your hair and scalp. Bladed Inc. offers scalp micropigmentation (SMP) to add density to reduce this contrast so your hair looks thicker and fuller. SMP can also be used to fill a receding hairline. For SMP, the ink color is matched to your hair and applied right into the scalp, making thousands of tiny pigmented dots that replicate the look of your hair follicles. Owner and master artist Britt Baker performs SMP as a noninvasive method to assist with hair loss and improve the overall look of your hair follicles. For more information about SMP, schedule an appointment with Britt at her office in Zionsville, IN.

Scalp micropigmentation in Zionsville, IN at Bladed Inc. can help address thinning and balding hair with several great benefits. In addition to Britt's expertise and artistic eye to create stunningly natural-looking outcomes, scalp micropigmentation also:

  • Provides a nonsurgical treatment option
  • Makes existing hair look thicker and fuller
  • Helps conceal pattern baldness and bald spots
  • Reduces the appearance of FUT scars
  • Looks like real hair growth patterns
  • Procedure is much more comfortable than regular tattooing
  • Results are long-lasting and natural-looking
  • No downtime or long recovery period
  • No scarring

Scalp micropigmentation is most often used to assist men with a buzz cut or short hair who want to conceal male pattern baldness. SMP mimics the appearance of hair follicles that match the real shaved hair follicles around the back of the head. SMP can also help anyone with regions of thinning hair or bald patches. The pigment minimizes the contrast between the color of your hair and your scalp to make your hair appear fuller. You may have tried a temporary topical hair loss concealer formula, but would prefer results that last. Scalp micropigmentation can also be beneficial if you have had hair restoration with follicular unit transplantation (FUT). SMP can reduce the look of the linear scar around the back of your head that is associated with FUT. SMP might also be used with follicular unit extraction (FUE) or other hair treatments to enhance the overall look of your results.

For scalp micropigmentation, a virtual or in-person consultation is required before booking the actual treatment. Because the ink does not go as far into your skin as traditional tattooing, discomfort should be minimal; however, a numbing cream may be put on your scalp before the treatment. Afterward, you may experience redness and scabbing that should subside within a few days. It's important not to pick at your scalp during the healing process, which may take 4 – 10 days. You should also avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, and water submersion for about a week. To give you long-term, natural-looking results that last 3 – 5 years, Britt suggests a minimum of 3 – 4 treatments. Each treatment will be scheduled about two weeks apart and last about 2 – 4 hours each. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required to book an appointment with the rest due on the day of service. The price for SMP will vary based on the size of the area being covered.

Brit did an amazing job on my brows! I’ve always hated doing eyebrow makeup and now I don’t have to! I’d 110% recommend her to anyone wanting beautiful brows.

Brittany is the BEST. She truly listened to what I wanted, and what I did not want. She took the time to map out what she thought would work best for my face shape/size. Along the way, she often asked, "What do you think? Are you ok with that?" to make sure I was on board. There was never any rush or impatience on her part. Any questions I had, she was very sweet in answering them. And I am truly blown away by the results!! For the first time in my adult life, I have nice eyebrows!! (No more penciling it in every morning with make up, wahooo). And ladies, let me tell ya - that itself is SOOOO liberating. I will let the photos below speak for itself. Britt is amazing, and I will be happy to go back to her for any future needs. Her office is so nice, clean, and I find myself actually looking forward to going to see her because her atmosphere is so pleasant and relaxing!

Britt was amazing. She answered all of my questions and was very responsive to my texts and emails. I was very nervous because my natural brows are blonde and sparse, and I didn't want them to look fake. Britt reassured me and shared with me that her own brows were blonde as well! The 8 week touch up is included in the price. I wish I hadn't waited so long to do this!

Highly recommend Bladed Brows if you are considering microblading! Britt took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and was able to give me that exact look. She maps out your brows perfectly to give you the best look for your face. The studio is clean, comfortable, and professional. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner!

About Us
How long will it last?
Scalp micropigmentation is a great procedure for patients looking for semi-permanent results. In general, it can last for up to 6 years. You can always return to our office for a touch-up in the meantime if you find the shade to fade over the years.
What are the cons?
There are very few cons to getting scalp micropigmentation. You may wish to take some over-the-counter pain medication prior to your procedure, as one of the main complaints is that the scalp is relatively sensitive. In addition, you should prepare for the aftercare in the first week or so following the procedure.
How realistic is scalp micropigmentation?

Our Zionsville, IN patients find scalp micropigmentation to be very realistic. It will look best if we are able to blend the pigment into your existing hairline, rather than create an entirely new one. Talk with your provider to determine the best way to make your micropigmentation look as natural as possible.

What is the aftercare for scalp micropigmentation?

Aftercare involves protecting the scalp from the sun and harsh chemicals. You should avoid swimming, heavy sweating, and exposing the treated area to direct sunlight for at least a week or two. Using a gentle shampoo and keeping the scalp moisturized can also help.

Is scalp micropigmentation a form of tattooing?

While scalp micropigmentation shares similarities with tattooing, it’s not the same thing. SMP involves using specialized equipment, techniques, and pigments designed specifically to mimic the appearance of hair follicles.

Does scalp micropigmentation work on lighter hair colors?

Yes, SMP is effective for all hair colors. A skilled practitioner like Britt can mix pigments to match your hair color, ensuring a realistic and natural-looking result.
