The pigment minimizes the contrast between the color of your hair and your scalp to make your hair appear fuller. You may have tried a temporary topical hair loss concealer formula, but would prefer results that last. Scalp micropigmentation can also be beneficial if you have had hair restoration with follicular unit transplantation (FUT). SMP can reduce the look of the linear scar around the back of your head that is associated with FUT. SMP might also be used with follicular unit extraction (FUE) or other hair treatments to enhance the overall look of your results.
What Can I Expect from Scalp Micropigmentation?
For scalp micropigmentation, a virtual or in-person consultation is required before booking the actual treatment. Because the ink does not go as far into your skin as traditional tattooing, discomfort should be minimal; however, a numbing cream may be put on your scalp before the treatment. Afterward, you may experience redness and scabbing that should subside within a few days. It's important not to pick at your scalp during the healing process, which may take 4 – 10 days. You should also avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, and water submersion for about a week. To give you long-term, natural-looking results that last 3 – 5 years, Britt suggests a minimum of 3 – 4 treatments. Each treatment will be scheduled about two weeks apart and last about 2 – 4 hours each. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required to book an appointment with the rest due on the day of service. The price for SMP will vary based on the size of the area being covered.

Britt was amazing. She answered all of my questions and was very responsive to my texts and emails. I was very nervous because my natural brows are blonde and sparse, and I didn't want them to look fake. Britt reassured me and shared with me that her own brows were blonde as well! The 8 week touch up is included in the price. I wish I hadn't waited so long to do this!
